My name is Melvin Hipsley, and I am the founder of Hipsley Consulting, LLC. Growing up, I saw what it means to be a hard worker, and how difficult it is to be a small business owner. Many owners rely on their trade knowledge and unique skills, while a long list of general business tasks still needs to get done. Seeing that inspired me to create Hipsley Consulting.
I have an educational background in business and finance, and my work experience includes experiences within engineering consulting and banking. I bring that expertise to every client, so you get structured, practical guidance without the price tag of a big firm.
Our goal is to lighten the load and take weight off your shoulders, so you can focus on what you do best. Based in Baltimore, we proudly partner with businesses across Maryland and beyond.

What is your process for working on smaller projects?
Hipsley Consulting, LLC has experience with projects of all scopes and sizes. Our process varies depending on what is being asked of us, the timeframe for implementing solutions and how defined the client’s final goal is. Traditionally, we take an approach we call LEPT, which stands for Listen, Evaluate, Prepare, Tackle. First, we Listen to the client to understand what is being asked of us. Next, we Evaluate: now that we know the problem, we brainstorm potential solutions with the client. Then we Prepare, determining which solution is optimal. Finally, we Tackle the problem, fully implementing the changes and solutions to fix the problem at hand.
Who is behind Hipsley Consulting, LLC?
Hipsley Consulting, LLC was founded by Melvin Hipsley in December 2025. The firm was created to help small business owners handle everything it takes to run a business alongside their core work. We aim to offer services that maximize growth, efficiency and value at an extremely affordable rate. A main belief at Hipsley Consulting is that small businesses are America’s backbone, and it is about time someone looked out for them.
